Akin Akinyelure
Director Akin Akinyelure takes a vision and makes it reality through sound strategy development and operational excellence. He intuitively sees the threads of opportunity that wind through projects, brings them together into a coherent whole, helps others extend their thinking to drive material advantage wherever he has served or led.
Akin’s diverse professional experiences (Energy, Infrastructure, Finance, Education) and background in Economics and Accounting allows him to provide clear direction and inspire action while remaining grounded in financial information that levers business and industry. Respected as a credible voice in decision making, identifying strategic partners, networking and establishing governance boundaries, Akin earns a seat at the table wherever he serves.
At Vista-Advisory, a privately‐held financial advisory firm, Akin oversees the origination of high valued mandates in the organization. Recently he spearheaded the origination and delivery of a tax optimisation mandate for Huawei that led to hundreds of millions in savings and has originated several PPP mandates in Healthcare, Infrastructure, Education etc.
Previously, at Asoil Nigeria Limited, Akin structured multiple trade transactions that led to an average annual turnover of N2.0 billion naira. He also developed strategic partnerships with major multinational oil and gas corporations namely Total, Oando and Mobil.
Akin’s forthrightness, leadership experience and hard work did not go unnoticed, he duly answered a call to service in 2015 to serve as the Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State for 4 years, a role which he executed with excellence before returning to the private sector.
Akin serves on multiple boards in varying sectors; He serves on the board of Queensland Academy School ensuring the growth and sustainability of quality education, Eclat Oil& Gas servicing company where he has been instrumental to strategic planning and the board of Meslomoksh (a local partner of Meslo International, a leading international pharmaceutical company).
Akin holds a Master’s of Science (MSc.) in Energy, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School and a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Accounting and Economics from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
